A good coach encourages their coachee to explore areas beyond their comfort zone, thus facilitating inter and intrapersonal growth. A coach must take up the role of a sounding board, maintaining an ethical and helpful outlook on their life and on the life of their coachee. A few prominent aspects of a good coach are as follows:
Non-judgemental and holding a safe space for the coachee.
An active listener.
Is firm and means business, and has serious conversations when required. Asked questions to help the coachee understand the situation better.
Enables the coachee to take meaningful action and to view themselves better and more accurately. A Coachee who believes themselves to be a victim is not ready for coaching.
Prepares the coachee to look within and find their own solutions.
Calls the coachee out on commitments they made to themselves in a non-aggressive way.
Provides a safe space for the coachee.
To help you find your life’s purpose through meaningful conversation.
To make your life less stressful and more manageable.
To help you see things from various perspectives.
To lead you onto the path of self-discovery.
To potentially transform you into the best version of yourself.
To overall change your life for the better.
The recommended time frame is one coaching session to a fortnight (two weeks), which adds up to 12+1 sessions over 6 months.
Additionally, we do a review after 3 months to ascertain whether we must continue on course, or, if required, tweak the direction of the coaching.
